Banded Together To Serve The Lord

May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble; may the God of Jacob make you secure! May he send you help from his temple; from Zion may he give you support! May he take notice of your offerings; may he accept your burnt sacrifice! (Selah) May he grant your heart’s desire; may he bring all your plans to pass! Then we will shout for joy over your victory; we will rejoice in the name of our God! May the Lord grant all your requests!” Psalms 20:1-5 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/psa.20.1-5.NET

The closing scene in the series Chosen, season 3 session 2, with the disciples, huddled quoting a psalm, was a powerful picture of the bond brothers in the Lord doing His work should experience with one another. I long for such a fellowship. The ministry I serve, CBMC, gives men an opportunity through prayer, evangelism, and discipleship to band together to see men saved and grow in their faith until entire cities are walking with the Lord, particularly among those who lead and influence those cities. We have obviously failed as Christians to band together and accomplish this work in our current climate. Our largest cities are on fire, murderous, corrupt, and corroding because of bad policies believed by those with bad morals who ignore God and deny His Lordship. This psalm challenges the church to regroup and reengage the work of seeking and saving the lost together. This psalm encourages God’s people that His work will find His favor. Though men resist, God will overcome because He is Lord of all and desires all men to be saved. The need of the hour is for the church to unify in obedience to the Great Commission. We will suffer resistance, but we can take heart, Jesus has overcome the world.
