Belief in God Means Facing Eternal Accountability

“And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set, so that those who want to go over from here to you will not be able, nor will any people cross over from there to us.’………But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”” Luke 16:26, 31 NASB2020  https://bible.com/bible/2692/luk.16.31.NASB2020

When we die we shall face God for judgement. All of us who believe in God believe this, regardless of the god we believe in. Eternal accountability is universal in the understanding of all of us who believe in God. What will that judgement be like? To the christian it will be the adherence to the word of God. Those who obeyed God’s word will receive God’s reward but those who ignored God’s word will be condemned according to God’s word. That condemnation will result in separation from God and those who will live forever with God. Those with God will see those separated from God and those separated from God will see those with God. The regret on both sides will be overwhelming. To see our parents, siblings, and children eternally separated from us, and assuming we are with God, suffering forever in the fires of hell will be painful indeed. How can we keep this from occurring? We must teach the word of God for it is living and active and able to penetrate our soul and spirit for leading us to repentance. The work of God is to believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord, Reconciler of all men to God and Judge of all men who refuse to accept His saving work. To reject Jesus is to reject the entire will of God the word of God makes known to us for making possible for us reconciliation with God. Doing life our own way, assuming we know what will get us into heaven while ignoring the word of God so that we can be diligent to do the will of God is to live our lives on sand; when the flood comes, and it will, our house will crash down upon us and we will find ourselves looking up from the fires of hell regretting having lived a life disobedient to the word of God.
