The Simple Truth Of Christianity

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “What should we do, brothers?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:36-38 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/act.2.37.NET

These verses describe the essence of Christianity and its exclusivity for entering eternal life alone through Jesus, the Savior, and Lord. All religions are exclusive. They all believe they have the truth, even the atheists who despise Christianity, claiming with all certainty that there is no truth! Like math equations and football scores, science experiments, and criminal cases, truth exists whether we like it or not, but we all need it to live. The truth is that God has come into our world looking like one of us to die for all of us. A human sacrifice for the human reality of disobedience to God from our birth until our death. Risen from the dead, Jesus lives to pardon all people who come to Him humbly seeking forgiveness for their rebellion against God. Upon confession, the follower of Jesus makes a public profession of their allegiance to Jesus through baptism. This adoption into the family of God causes us to be filled with the Spirit of God, Who is God, for leading, directing, and changing us into the image of Jesus the Lord, Whom we seek to obey in everything He commands. We gather together as the church to encourage one another in this obedience even as we join together to help those who are still ignorant and rebellious of the One True God to come to their senses, repent from their sins, and begin walking as obedient followers of Jesus as they were created to do.
