Christians Are Required To Embrace New Thinking

“You know that I did not hold back from proclaiming to you anything that would be helpful, and from teaching you publicly and from house to house, testifying to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.” Acts 20:20-21 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/act.20.20-21.NET

The Christian should desire the whole word of God to be wholly like God in Jesus the Savior, into Whose image the Father is committed to conforming His children. The work of the church, which is the body of believers led by those appointed by God for the particular work of teaching and preaching, is to share the word of God with one another, pray for each other’s faithfulness to that word, and encourage and rebuke one another in the obedience to that word. The church meets together in pairs, in small groups, and corporate gatherings for this hearing, praying, encouraging, and rebuking of one another. In this way, the church grows strong in obedience to Jesus and the work of building His kingdom upon the earth as it is in heaven. The younger generations are resisting the word of God by believing the pagans that they should only be exposed to those ideas that agree with their opinion. The notion that they should be exposed to thoughts that disagree with them leads to their cancellation of those with counter ideas. This cannot be in the church. We are a people who begin by repenting from dead works and ideas to follow Jesus, the truth, and the living word of God. We must be exposed, challenged, and encouraged in those ideas and works that please God but will upset our flesh which is always bent toward disobedience since we are born with the nature of Adam. It is this battle within from being born again of the nature of Christ with our sinful nature of Adam that we apply God’s truth to our minds to cause our will to do and say those things that demonstrate allegiance to Jesus as Lord and not to our sinful desires.
