Hebrews 5:11–14 (NIV)
“…By this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again…” (Heb. 5:12)
Let’s be honest—most Christian men today are overfed on opinion and undernourished on truth. We’ve been in church for years, but we’re still living on spiritual milk. The writer of Hebrews rebukes believers not for ignorance, but for stagnation. These were men who should’ve been leading, teaching, building—but instead, they were starting over, stuck in spiritual infancy.
Who’s trying to understand God anymore?
The Sunday message is often the full extent of our pursuit. But real men—those hungry for purpose and driven by conviction—don’t settle for one spiritual meal a week. They feast daily on God’s Word and train themselves to recognize good from evil, not by guesswork, but by constant use of Scripture.
Here’s the hard truth:
If you’re not moving forward in faith, you’re shrinking back in fear or comfort. Spiritual maturity is not about age or church attendance; it’s about obedience. It’s about training yourself in righteousness so you can live as a warrior for God’s will in your home, workplace, church, and community.
Men of God, your life has a mission:
Make disciples. Teach obedience. Live by example.
That means leading someone else into truth. Not someday—now. You don’t need a platform, just purpose. God’s will is clear: none should perish. The question is—are you part of the rescue mission, or still sitting in the nursery?
The mature man of God isn’t waiting for a better season. He’s not content with passive faith. He’s grinding in the Word. He’s making disciples. He’s seeking God’s righteousness through repentance, faith, and full obedience.
So, brother:
-
Are you training or coasting?
-
Are you eating meat or sipping milk?
-
Are you building God’s kingdom or merely benefiting from it?
Let’s grow up. Let’s go deep. Let’s get after it.
Because the Church—and the world—needs men of solid food, not boys who still need bottles.
