Living for Today

Exodus 16.4 describes the people will go out and gather a certain amount each day. When you pray, Jesus taught; ask this day for your daily bread.

God supplied bread in the dessert to Israel on a daily basis. The Lord Jesus commands we not worry about tomorrow but realize today has enough trouble of its own so we should seek God and His will simply for today.

Daily is the least common denominator for trusting God for it requires embracing the moment and doing all we can right now for the glory of God.

When I live for today I live free from my regret of past sins and free from future concerns which may or may not happen.

The greatest peace and the greatest impact for God happens when I live in the moment staying focused on today.

This is a very hard thing for most of us to do as we want guaranteed contracts, long-term commitments and lifetime assurances.

These things are not to be had with God because He values faith and trust in Him on a daily basis above our feelings of comfort and security.

When we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness God promises to meet our daily needs.

God sought to teach Israel, and all of us through Jesus, that He is all about a daily relationship with His creation.

God is capable of meeting our daily needs but requires us to daily pursue Him and work to glorify Him.

God wants us to move-on from our past and not worry about our future but rather put our faith in Him today and make today the best day of our lives both with Him and for Him.
