In my book MAN Up! I speak about the role of protector that men must start implementing in their lives if they would be godly and raise godly children. Today’s Scripture confirms this essential role men are to play. First, the word of God must be pursued daily to be implemented daily. We remain in the teaching of Christ only so far as we remain in the word of Christ. Weekly sermons are insufficient for keeping us spiritually healthy. We must be daily consumers of God’s word if we will walk in God’s ways. Second, the protector keeps out of his house so that he does not share in the false teaching, that which speaks against Christ’s word. The internet, television, and radio are saturated with ungodly and unbiblical perspectives. CRT, LGBTQ, and Christian Nationalism are pagan constructs pushed by the godless to change the hearts and minds of the godly away from obedience to Christ. The universities, the media, and the government promote and push their godless agenda upon God’s people with far too great effect. The protector of himself and his home, the man of God, seeks to keep the word of God growing in his soul while diminishing the voice of the godless in his life. Our children must be educated, but the protector must find a way to keep public education’s agenda from coming into the soul of our children. The word of God with the Spirit of God in cooperation with the church of God are the resources the man of God has to protect himself and his family from falling captive and participating in what calls men to evil deeds.
