Repentance And The Return Of Jesus

Acts 3:19–21 (NIV) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.”

The Question Every Man Asks

When will Jesus return? The Church has asked this from the beginning. Some take His delay as proof He will never come, but that denial doesn’t erase reality. Those who reject Christ now will still face Him later—only to discover their tragic mistake when it’s too late, condemned to eternal separation from Him.

God’s Delay Is Mercy

Why hasn’t Christ returned yet? Peter tells us: because God is patiently gathering His people. Every day He waits, more men repent, more sins are wiped out, more souls are restored. If Jesus had returned a thousand years ago, you and I would not be alive in Christ today.

What feels like delay is actually mercy. God’s kindness is meant to lead men to repentance, to give us the chance to turn from self-rule and find life in Him.

Repentance Restores True Purpose

Repentance isn’t just a church word. It’s a turning point. For men who measure success by money, comfort, or recognition, repentance redefines what matters. It calls us to reject pride, selfishness, and sin, and to embrace obedience, humility, and faith.

Repentance is proof that our purpose isn’t tied to possessions or applause, but to Christ alone. And the reward is not only forgiveness, but refreshing from the Lord—peace, strength, and hope even while the world grows darker.

The Narrow Road to the Kingdom

Jesus warned that the road is narrow and few walk it. Most men refuse repentance because they don’t want to surrender control. But God will hold every man accountable for his response to Jesus.

To the repentant—those proven by obedience—belongs eternal life in His kingdom. And that kingdom will come in fullness when Christ returns to restore all things. The new earth will be filled with His people—no more sin, no more pain, no more striving—only worship, celebration, and joy forever with the Lord.

A Challenge for Men Today

Brother, the return of Christ is not a question of if—it’s only when. The real question is: will you be ready?

Repentance is the only path to purpose, forgiveness, and eternal life. Turn to God now, so that your sins may be wiped out and your life refreshed by the presence of Christ—until He comes again to restore everything.
