Jesus’ last command remains our mission: “Go and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:18-20).
A memorial that draws hundreds of thousands on site and millions online—where the name of Jesus is repeatedly proclaimed—is a rare, God-given platform for that mission.
Public Witness Before Rulers
Luke records Paul rejoicing that his trials put him “on display before kings and governors as a witness to them” (Acts 9:15; 26:22).
When national leaders—from the President to Cabinet members—hear the gospel in person, the Great Commission is served. Whether they came for politics or personal respect, Christ was preached (Philippians 1:18).
Seed-Sowing at Scale
54,000 new Turning Point USA chapters mean tens of thousands of fresh relational networks.
If even a fraction of those students and leaders heard the gospel at this memorial and begin seeking Christ, the potential for disciple-making multiplication is enormous (Mark 4:8). Our task now is prayer and follow-up: asking God to turn curiosity into conviction, and conviction into repentance and faith.
Guarding Our Own Hearts
Yet we must remember: crowds and cameras don’t equal conversion.
Jesus warned that the gate is narrow and the road hard that leads to life (Matthew 7:13-14).
Political enthusiasm or admiration for a fallen leader is not saving faith. The Church must channel the attention toward repentance, baptism, and obedience to Jesus (Acts 2:38), not mere cultural Christianity.
Our Response
- Pray for every official and attendee by name if possible (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Pray for the people in your life who need a personal relationship with Jesus. CBMC’s Ten Most Wanted card is an awesome tool for these ends.
- Engage seekers who were stirred by the service by offering Scripture and community. CBMC’s Operation Timothy personal discipleship tool is an effective means to this end.
- Model the gospel ourselves—living proof that Jesus saves and transforms.
Charlie Kirk’s memorial becomes Great-Commission fruit only as Christ’s followers move from a moment of inspiration to a movement of discipleship. The event opened ears; now we must help open hearts with the Word of God and the love of Christ.
“The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed… though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it becomes the largest of garden plants” (Matthew 13:31-32).
This memorial scattered many seeds—let’s pray and work for a harvest.
