1 Timothy 3:2, 4, 12 NIV records, “I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.” (1 Timothy 2:12).“Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,…He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect….A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.” https://bible.com/bible/111/1ti.3.2-12.NIV
Men were created by God to lead. In Genesis, we see Adam held accountable first for the actions of his family, even though Eve initiated the rebellion. Paul reminds Timothy, his church trainer and leader, to remind the men to teach their families God’s ways, especially those in church leadership. Too many men are comfortable with their wives being the spiritual head of their homes. This passivity toward the things of God makes men weak and their children weaker in pursuing God and obeying His commands. It is part of the explanation for why so many college students raised in Christian homes abandon the faith. Certainly, wives are integral to the formation of Christian children, but the responsibility to model Christlike behavior and to teach God’s word in the home belongs most and first to the husband. When a man takes for himself a wife, he takes upon himself the responsibility of spiritual leadership in the home. A man is to encourage obedience to everything God commands through Jesus the Savior and model that obedience always. A man’s failure to lead spiritually in the home is disobedience to God and greatly reduces the probability of his children embracing the faith. It weakens the Church and results in a poor witness to the world since most of these men morph into the world’s image, being indistinguishable from the pagan in character or conduct in the marketplace. A man grows deepest and best when he embraces his role as spiritual leader of the home, and we need much more of this activity in the Church today.

Amen! That does not release women from their spiritual responsibility, but this is what I see in scripture. Excellent!
