We All Worship Something or Someone

If you have no desire to worship the Lord, choose today whom you will worship, whether it be the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But I and my family will worship the Lord!”” Joshua 24:15 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/jos.24.15.NET

Everyone worships someone or something because God created us to worship Him, but our fallen nature, our brokenness from our created being, is born skewed away from God and toward ourselves. This brokenness is seen inherently in toddlers’ disobedience to loving parents, unkindness to fellow children, and abject propensity to selfishness. Untrained, this self-directed living continues until we meet the God Who made humanity, then become accountable to His standards for living as prescribed in the Bible. The parent’s role is to teach our children God’s standards so they can also follow the Lord. The family’s father must lead this cause by affirming before them, like Joshua, we will worship the Lord. The father who ignores God causes his children also to have little interest in the things of God. The faithful mother to God can effectively lead her children to God, but without the father’s support, her effort is doubled, and her effect is often compromised. Ignoring God only elevates ourselves and or the god we choose from man’s religions like Islam and Mormonism. Only the one true God, Jesus, calls us to love others and to self-sacrifice for the benefit of others. Only the one true God has proven Himself historically and scientifically valid through His word and His deeds. There is a god. We know that even if we try to deny it. There is only one True God. He lived among us as one of us in Jesus, the Savior of the world. As for me and my house, we will worship Him!
