The Importance Of Believing Scripture

But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be corrupted from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ……For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15 LSB. https://bible.com/bible/3345/2co.11.3-15.LSB

The Word of God has been given to the people of God for knowing the will of God. All those in Christ have no excuse for not knowing the One True God and obeying His commands. His commands are easy. They are not burdensome to us. We are to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

This love for God manifests itself by our spending time with God learning from Him through His word, and then obeying Him before men so that all men experience the love of God and come to know Him too. We love men as God loves men so that all men live forever with God and none are cast away from God for ignoring God, thus living for all eternity in hell. Yet most Christians ignore God’s word.

They listen to men who claim to know God but lead them away from the truth of God’s word. Key areas of this misleading occur in our understanding of our origin. The false teachers are evolutionists. Our identity. The false teachers go beyond male and female. Our beginnings of life. The false teachers promote the murder of the unborn. Our destiny. The false teachers leave all roads open to heaven when there is only One Who saves. The people of God are confused by the world’s message and many false teachers of God, but we are without excuses.

The Scripture is our source of truth. It must be consumed by all, adhered to by all so that all of us know the truth and are set free by this truth to love God and love our neighbor as He has commanded. The false teachers tell us to ignore the Scriptures. They say the Scriptures are not true, but God is Truth, and He has provided us His Word of Truth so that we can know the truth.

Do we have faith that God is good and has supplied all that we need for knowing Him and doing His will, or do we think ourselves wiser and better than God, and so we should continue to do whatever is right in our eyes?
