What should the church be doing today with war in the world, economic chaos, social disorder, and rampant immorality? Too many are burying their heads, waiting for Jesus to return as though they will be saved from the wrath to come, even as they uncover the one talent they have long since buried to return to the Master Who will judge all of us by our fruit to determine our faithfulness to His commands. We should do this rather than fear, complain, and freeze. We should love people into God’s kingdom by sharing God’s gospel with those destined for hell away from God unless they repent before God in Jesus the Savior. We can do no greater service to our fellow man than to bring them to Jesus for reconciliation with God. Winning people to Jesus is how the world becomes more like Jesus. We who are in Christ are God’s solution to the problem we see in humanity that is separated from Christ. Second, we must do what is right regardless of the cost. We must obey Jesus in everything. In our speech, business, and relationships, the Christian must do what Jesus commands. We prove our allegiance to God by our obedience to God. Belief in God is not obedience to God. The devil demonstrates that. Belief that obeys is faith that will be rewarded for all eternity. As we work, we pray for God to bless and to return His blessings of peace on earth and goodwill toward men even as we strive earnestly to see His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
