“What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”” 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/2co.6.16-18.NIV
In asking Jesus to become my Savior because of Who He is, He naturally must also become my Lord. His entrance into my life is His dominion over my life. He must lord over me, for I have become so far removed from His original design that His presence necessitates a total demolition and reconstruction to make me the person He intended from the creation of the world. His work is good and lovely, for He is gentle and humble at heart, yet its demand is my loss of life so that I might gain His life. God promises me a new body for housing His Spirit that will allow me to be fully holy as He is holy, but in this body, I must surrender daily to His Spirit by denying myself and then dying to my ways so that the person of Jesus can be seen, felt, and heard in this world to draw still others to Him. The work of God in me is the conformity of me into the image of His Firstborn Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. His service, obedience, love, and humility are to be the characteristics describing my new life so that others can see God in me and work through me to accomplish His purposes for me and the world. I am no longer to live, but Christ is to live again in me, demonstrating His resurrection in me and through me drawing everyone to Him until all see Jesus and come to the full knowledge of Him in obedience to everything He has commanded.
