Christians Must Reject The Thinking of the Worldly Wise

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the intelligence of the intelligent. Where is the one who is wise? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish? For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom, God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of what is preached.” 1 Corinthians 1:18-21 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/1co.1.20.CSB

Christians must stop listening to the pagans concerning matters that shape our view of God, ourselves, and the world. Certainly, we can listen to the meteorologist who forecasts hurricanes in Florida. Let us then pray for God’s mercy upon our land. However, we must reject what the ‘wise’ of our culture promotes concerning morality and purpose. Most of our media moguls, political pundits,  and university Ph. D.s reject God, ignore His word, and disdain His church. We must ignore them, for their teachings lead us to believe what is contrary to God’s revealed Person and will in the Scriptures. During this election season, ask yourself why you are voting how you intend? What is the belief about that particular person you hold? Are their values biblical? The one promoting sexual immorality, legal death for the unborn, gender fluidity, marriage between men with men and women with women, etc., is to be rejected. Our Biblical worldview needs to shape our allegiance politically. These people reject God so that we will live in rebellion against God, losing His presence and His protection, resulting in our own demise, as we see so clearly today. God’s ways are not man’s ways. God’s ways must shape our ways. We are to live in obedience to everything Jesus has commanded. To obey Him, we must know Him, and to know Him, we must be diligent students of Scripture, studying them alone and with God’s people so that together we obey them, showing the world that we are His ‘foolish’ disciples, drawing into the family of God those who see the wisdom of our righteous living.
