God’s Gift Of Choice Have Consequences Now And Forever

“See, today I have set before you life and prosperity, death and adversity. For I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and multiply, and the Lord your God may bless you in the land you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you do not listen and you are led astray to bow in worship to other gods and serve them, I tell you today that you will certainly perish and will not prolong your days in the land you are entering to possess across the Jordan. I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, love the Lord your God, obey him, and remain faithful to him. For he is your life, and he will prolong your days as you live in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”” Deuteronomy 30:15-20 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/deu.30.20.CSB

God’s will, the way to God, and the reward from God have never changed since He created humanity. The Garden of God contained the Tree of eternal life and the tree of death, known as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In choosing a people through whom God would make Himself known, He again set before those people His command and His promise, allowing them, as He allowed Adam and Eve, to choose life or death. Finally, in Jesus, God Himself has come to earth to once again call us to obedience to Him by loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to receive forgiveness of our rebellion against Him so that we can live forever with Him on the new earth He will create. God asks of us what God should require of us, that we love Him by obeying Him. God promises us what only God can give us; eternal life with Him and all those who have ever loved Him. Why is it so hard for us to love Him when He is so good and what He requires of us is essentially that we love one another as brothers and sisters made by our Creator? God wants our best, and His ways are designed for our health and well-being physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. We continue to rebel against God to our own destruction in this world and in the world to come. Our choice is simple, love God and live forever in joy and peace with our beloved family and friends, or continue to disobey God and suffer forever with all those who have likewise rejected Him in Jesus, the Savior of the world.
