God’s Will And Human Destiny Are Influenced By Christian Obedience

“”I hate their deeds and thoughts! So I am coming to gather all the nations and ethnic groups; they will come and witness my splendor. I will perform a mighty act among them and then send some of those who remain to the nations – to Tarshish, Pul, Lud (known for its archers), Tubal, Javan, and to the distant coastlands that have not heard about me or seen my splendor. They will tell the nations of my splendor. They will bring back all your countrymen from all the nations as an offering to the Lord. They will bring them on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules, and on camels to my holy hill Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “just as the Israelites bring offerings to the Lord’s temple in ritually pure containers. And I will choose some of them as priests and Levites,” says the Lord. “For just as the new heavens and the new earth I am about to make will remain standing before me,” says the Lord, “so your descendants and your name will remain. From one month to the next and from one Sabbath to the next, all people will come to worship me,” says the Lord. “They will go out and observe the corpses of those who rebelled against me, for the maggots that eat them will not die, and the fire that consumes them will not die out. All people will find the sight abhorrent.”” Isaiah 66:18-24 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/isa.66.24.NET

Repeatedly the Bible teaches the Great Commission is the mission of every Christian. From Old Testament to New Testament, the will of God is for all peoples everywhere to know Him, love Him, serve Him, and worship Him. Likewise, from Old Testament to New Testament, the people of God have been commanded to make disciples of the nations, teaching them to obey everything God has commanded for God to have that which He desires. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, too busy building their kingdoms and participating in their pleasures rather than remaining faithful to the work God has commanded His people to accomplish. The days of rest and play are in the future. The days of work are today. This work determines the destiny of humanity. Those who respond to the gospel will live forever in peace, joy, and love with God and all those who have ever loved Him. Those who ignore the gospel will suffer eternally in torment. What of those who respond but fail to work? How are they different from those who don’t respond at all? Better to work and be found faithful than idle and hope for the best. God is good, and God is love, but God is holy, and God is just. Heaven and hell are His rewards and punishment for those who obey or disobey His commands. Let us be among those whom God is well pleased for doing His work for His glory to accomplish His purposes on earth as it is in heaven.
