God’s World Operating System Is The New Covenant

Matthew 21:42-45 NIV “Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’ ? “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.” When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them.”  https://bible.com/bible/111/mat.21.42-45.NIV

Easter is also the celebration of Passover, and for Christians, it is the final Passover. At this supper, Jesus, God Himself, took the final cup and announced a new covenant in His blood. This new covenant is the fulfillment of the old covenant, its completion, and its conclusion. The new covenant is the operating system God is currently using to reconcile all people to Himself. This covenant is through Jesus. The covenant requires all people everywhere to repent from their disobedience to God, both the breaking of His commands and the ignoring by failure to perform His commands. This covenant requires belief or faith that Jesus died for all the sins of all humanity as a sacrifice on the cross so that all humanity could be pardoned by God for all their sins against God. It is belief that humanity has no means for reconciling with God apart from the sacrifice of Jesus, and it is faith that His resurrection is proof that His sacrifice was accepted by God the Father making His promise of life eternal with Him certain. It is faith and belief that by asking God’s forgiveness, repentance, and believing in Jesus’ work at the cross, we will be reconciled to God, pardoned from all our sins, and made children of God to live forever with Him as our Father. These acts of repentance and belief are verified in our lives by obedience to everything Jesus commands. It is working to produce fruit in keeping with repentance. It is a life of going to those who deny Jesus, sharing the truth of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection with them, and then teaching obedience to everything Jesus commands to all those who receive Him as their Savior and Lord. The people of God are all those but only those who have humbled themselves before Jesus as their God, Savior, Lord, and King.
