Holiness Defines Sexual Morality

An obvious difference between Christians and non Christians is or should be, behavior. This is so because our predisposition and the natural behavior of the non Christian, is to do whatever we want to do.

If we claim to be followers of God, servants of God, children of God then we will begin to conform our behavior to the will of God. The will of God is a reflection of the character of God.

This explains why Allah allows revenge, murder, rape and destruction because he is a god who came to steal, kill and destroy everyone not in agreement with him. Conversely, the One True God, is described as the God of love and therefore has as His highest commands that we love Him and love one another.

While the Christian God is love He is also holy, that means perfect in nature and set apart from all that He has created because of His nature. Yet He commands His people to be holy as He is holy for those who have been reconciled to Him through Jesus have been empowered by Him to live holy lives.

Nowhere is this holiness more in conflict today than in the area of sexual immorality. Too many Christians support abortion, the murder of unborn children. Nearly every one of these murders is the result of fornication.

This is another evil committed in the Church because too many Christians do not follow the Bible’s teaching that sex is to be conducted solely within the confines of marriage between one man and one woman as God created when He made Adam and Eve.

This too has become controversial with so called Christians again denying or ignoring Biblical truth in order to support the gay and transgender lifestyle.

Sometimes so called Christians support these perversions thinking they are being loving but they are ignoring God’s holiness. God is love and God is holy and by His love He has declared what sexual activity is holy and what is not.

Christians must embrace Biblical instruction for this is God’s gift to humanity so that we can know Him and do what pleases Him. God is not vague in His requirements of us but has recorded everything for us that we need to live holy lives.

If we are really Christians, if we are truly children of God then we will want to emulate the character and will of our Father which is to live holy lives because He Himself is holy.
