Intolerance Creates Persecution. Discipleship Diminishes Persecution.

“You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.” Luke 21:16-19 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/luk.21.16-19.NIV

We should be amazed at the intolerance of the human race toward Jesus. Jesus Himself was crucified by men for revealing to men that He is the promised Savior forecast in the Scriptures. He came as God and man to live perfectly and die sacrificially so that all men could be reconciled to God. His followers would also be put to death for proclaiming His life, death, and resurrection to a world that would not accept that He is the Savior, that He alone is God, and that He is the exclusive means to reconciliation with God for living in eternity in His blessed kingdom. The Muslims, the Hindus, and the Communist-Atheists still kill and imprison the messengers of Jesus who live in obedience to His command to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching everyone to obey everything Jesus has commanded. The American Church has cowered from persecution these past sixty years, allowing society to become increasingly hostile to the teachings of Jesus. The prescription is evangelism and discipleship, obedience to the Great Commission, which is the mission of every Christian, not abandonment, fear, and disobedience. The US government is beginning the deconstruction of the hostile worldview against Christianity, a gift from God the Church must embrace by recommitting to making disciples through the proclamation of Jesus as Lord and teaching everyone to obey everything Jesus commands no matter the cost to self now or risk the eternal cost of condemnation later. It is by standing with Jesus that we live forever with Jesus.
