What is an unhypocritical faith? It is a lifestyle that is congruent with the message of the gospel. What is that message? Love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves. Be holy as God is holy. Teach everyone everywhere to obey everything Jesus commanded us. The great commandment in harmony with the great commission while living a holy life directed by God’s word. This is the faith that God calls us to live; if we live this way, we shall not be hypocrites to the gospel. What will this look like? It will begin with daily consumption of God’s word so that we can know God and His will. It will continue with prayer so that His power and His presence is obtained for doing His will among men. It is walking as Jesus walked in humility before God and love as a servant before men. It is sharing the love of God in Jesus with everyone we have the opportunity to influence as we give ourselves to serving the needs of others everywhere we go. The fruit of the Spirit should be the character people experience as they encounter us while hearing from us about the love of God manifest in Jesus, the Savior of the world. Our faith is in God displayed toward men just as God loved the world by sending His Son, Who loved us and gave Himself for us at the cross.
