Suffering Is A Matter Of When Not If.

But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to take my name to Gentiles, kings, and Israelites. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” Acts 9:15-16 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/act.9.16.CSB

Does anyone want to be a chosen instrument of God? Why would a person? To know God intimately, do for God abundantly and receive His highest reward eternally. Don’t we pursue wealth and power on this earth to impress men? To be much for God on earth is to suffer much on earth even as the Son of Man suffered for which He was made King of kings and Lord of lords before Whom all will bow the knee and confess with their mouth Jesus is Lord. Perhaps we want to do much for God, but we don’t want to suffer at all for God. There is no suffering without identifying with Jesus before men. It is in aligning with Jesus that men align against us. Fewer and fewer are those who identify themselves as disciples of Jesus insisting upon His way to life eternal. Fewer and fewer are those who identify with Jesus in their thinking, speaking, and behaving lest they incur the judgment of men and their condemnation for being intolerant. Failure to participate in the sins of men either by action or ascent is to be judged unloving and unacceptable. Pleasing men is more straightforward than pleasing God, but meeting God and having lived a life of cowardice about Him will result in eternal condemnation from Him. Suffer a little now or suffer a lot later. The wise choice seems clear, but why are so few making it?
