Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with lovingkindness; Break up your fallow ground, Indeed, it is time to seek Yahweh Until He comes and rains righteousness on you.” Hosea 10:12 LSB https://bible.com/bible/3345/hos.10.12.LSB
The prophets speak to the people of God, encouraging them to obey God’s ways so that they won’t encounter God’s wrath. Judah was to see the punishment of God upon Israel for their disobedience to God and learn from it by turning away from their rebellious ways and begin obeying their God. In the end, they did not; thus, they also suffered the wrath of God, losing their land. We should be looking around and seeing the world suffering from disobedience to God’s ways and lead by example and then encourage obedience to God’s ways with our voices. Christians should be increasing their engagement in doing what God commands in the world, righteousness so that more of God can be observed by the world, in the hope that the world will repent and obey God. We reap what we sow. If we are not sowing righteousness, we are not reaping salvation among men. If we live the same as the pagans around us, apart from one hour Sunday morning, we will not experience the presence of God in our lives nor see the power of God exercised through our lives to win people into the kingdom of God. There are few genuinely walking with the Lord, serving the Lord, to see the salvation of the Lord on earth as it is in heaven. The people of God must live according to the ways of God if we will see the ways of God being lived by the people of our world.
