The secret to our faithfulness to God to live as His witnesses is for us to be empowered by the Holy Spirit, Who gives us the courage to obey His command to go and make disciples. How are we to receive the Holy Spirit in power in our lives? We are given the Holy Spirit upon repentance and faith in Jesus when we commit ourselves wholly and fully to following Him so that we can obey everything He has commanded. This Holy Spirit, Who is God Himself living within us, begins His work of forming us into Jesus the First Born Son. This work of God in us so that the will of God can be completed through us is nurtured by our cooperation with God, or else it is stymied by our disobedience to God. To strengthen the work of God in us, we must fuel the Holy Spirit Who within us to accomplish the will of God by us. Like Jesus, the word of God must be our primary source of sustenance. Like Jesus serving God must become our primary purpose for living. Like Jesus, obedience to God must be the first priority for those who love God to obey His commands. Living for God courageously is God’s work in us coming out of us as we place God’s word in us to facilitate the power of God for transforming us so that we accomplish God’s purpose for all people everywhere to be reconciled to God through Jesus the Savior.
