How quickly life passes. Like the speed of summer vacation, our lives are over and then we face God to be judged by how we lived these lives in conformity to His will. We mostly live as we please, only fleetingly thinking about the God Who made us and will judge us on that day we depart from this place to meet Him face to face. It is the wise person who makes himself ready for that meeting that will decide his eternal destiny. Those who rejected God on this earth will be rejected by God from the new earth to live in torment, suffering and pain for all eternity. Those who humbled themselves before God on this earth, who repented from ignoring Him and disobeying His ways, who sought the One True God and made pleasing Him their first priority, these few will inherit eternal life on the new earth to live in joy, peace, health and love with God and all those who have loved Him throughout human history. Like preparing for retirement, all of us must plan for our eternal future that will come quickly if we are fortunate enough to live 80 or 90 years but even quicker to those who are suddenly swept away. We do not know the day or the hour of our departure so everyday we must prepare and ready ourselves for it could be today.
