“and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved….so that all will be condemned — those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness…..But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 12-13 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/2th.2.10-13.CSB
The need of the hour is for the Church to embrace the Scripture as its chief source of truth to align their hearts, minds, and will to its directives. The election revealed the Church’s poverty of knowing God and His Word. So many advocated for those whose agenda is murder and destruction of children. Elections are not about pure and impure but about the least destructive, the least abhorrent to God, people who may or may not follow the King’s mandates but whose agenda most closely aligns with the King. Returning home on a flight last night, the woman behind me intermixed in her conversation prayers and exclamations to God along with every vulgarity common among street thugs. She even used the ‘N’ word that no one is supposed to ever speak. No doubt a churchgoer but not a person submitted to the Word of God so that the Spirit of God is forming them properly into the person of God, Who is Jesus, the firstborn Son of God, into Whose image all of us are to be transformed. All of us on this path of transformation are to be of the truth. Jesus is the Truth, and we must be of the Word, seeking to know, understand, and obey everything Jesus commands. This Word is the Spirit’s fuel for forming us into the image of God. We need the Spirit of God to do His work in us, and He needs the Word of God in our lives to accomplish that work. The sanctification of our lives, the growing more into the image of Jesus, is the commitment of God to complete the good work He started in us and our commitment when we repented from our sin to turn from our evil way, take up our cross and follow Jesus in absolute obedience to every Word that comes from the mouth of God.
