The Lord has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers). For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. I continue to think and pray for God to awaken His church and for His people to begin to truly seek Him and to do His work. Like Israel before us, too many Christians sleep, the Bible is nothing but words trapped in a book, they don’t read it giving various excuses for the ignoring of God prevalent in their lives except for occasional church attendance. Passionate love for God where He is demonstrably first in their life is sorely lacking. They come near to God with their mouth but their hearts are far away. May this be true no more. May God stir His people to want Him and to love Him, to serve Him, and to pursue Him. It is certainly the will of God for His people to do so. O that His people would hunger for His word, for fellowship to grow in their faith, for obedience in their lives so that God is seen and glorified by good deeds that reflect His will for the world. This can happen but the fog has to be removed from our hearts and minds. Now is the time. Today is the day. Two easy and quick action steps can be taken. First, grab a Bible reading plan and start daily reading praying to God some of the things discovered in His word. Second, grab a brother and begin meeting to grow in God’s word. CBMC’s Operation Timothy tool is a great study for two men to join together to begin pursuing God together. I want to encourage this more and more while praying and waiting to see if God will move more and more men to seek Him, love Him, obey Him, and serve Him.
