We Have To Be Holy To Be Healthy

“And I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the breach before Me for the land so that I would not bring it to ruin; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30 LSB https://bible.com/bible/3345/ezk.22.30.LSB

The people had done evil in the eyes of God. The religious leaders had done evil in the eyes of God. The result? Judgment, punishment, and discipline from God.

But the Lord Who is loving, the Lord Who is kind, the Lord Who is slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness, looked for a man to intercede for Him so that His hand would be stayed but found none. The Lord Jesus took the wrath of God upon Himself at the cross. My sins are paid, God’s wrath justified, my forgiveness granted. God is so good.

Yet He still requires His church to be holy. He still requires His people who call upon His Name to humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways to hear our prayers, receive His blessing, and experience His healing upon the land. Who wants to be such a man? I do.

I want to be part of the solution, not the problem. Our character can be antithetical to the person of God and, therefore, the nature of God and thus the reason we experience so little fruit in the work of God. O may it be no longer. Please change us, Lord, and please use us for drawing Your church, this nation, and even the world to You for Your glory.
