What Heaven Is Really Like: Jesus on Marriage, Resurrection, and Eternal Life

Luke 20:34-36 NIV “Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.” https://bible.com/bible/111/luk.20.34-36.NIV

You can learn a great deal about a religion by examining its promised rewards for its adherents. Muslim men receive seven or seventy perpetual virgins. I’m not sure how the women feel about this reward or if it’s even the same women who live on this earth. Mormon men who reach the highest level in their religion can also have multiple wives through whom they populate their planet, becoming gods. Women are eternal only as long as they are married to their husbands. Religions that focus on sexual reward for men reveal a very strange god who promises such things. Most likely, these religions were created by men. The One True God promises a new heaven and a new earth where men and women will live forever as children of God. No sex, no marriage, just family with the One True God as Father. A new earth is created with new bodies given to all of those who on this earth made Jesus their Savior and Lord by faith proven by obedience. These are necessary because our current world and bodies are broken, corrupt, and die as a result of the curse upon us for our ancestors’ rebellion against God, which we all perpetuate in this world. Male and female are equal in reward and value in the kingdom to come even as they are now, though they have different roles to play in this world. Life forever in peace, love, joy, and abundance is the promise to Christians. This makes the most sense if God is good, and He is, and He created both male and female, which He did so that they can live with Him forever.
