This verse describes what earth would look like were the Lord to send His Spirit to us in an overwhelming and overpowering way. The church uses the word revival, a revitalization of the people of God for God and for doing His work on earth. We’re the world to receive an overflow of the presence of God by the Spirit of God through the people of God then all manner of goodness glorifying God would take place. There are many who call themselves christians who are not living as Jesus lived. There are many more who make no such claim of being a Christian and certainly live that way. When God appears, right living takes place, men are reconciled to God and the doing of good as described by God increases upon the earth. In essence, a revitalization of the church would result in the church turning to the Scriptures for guidance to obey God, turning toward one another to serve and care for each other, and turning to the world to see the lost found, the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, and the prisoner to sin set free from their destruction. We who long for these things should pray for these things. That heaven would pour down righteousness, the Holy Spirit, the presence of God would fill the earth, that those who reject Jesus and His ways would do so no longer but would repent and turn to obedience to God and that all men everywhere would love one another with the same love God has for all of us everywhere.
