When God Blesses A Nation

“The Lord says, “I will put a curse on people who trust in mere human beings, who depend on mere flesh and blood for their strength, and whose hearts have turned away from the Lord……My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me.” Jeremiah 17:5, 7 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/jer.17.5-7.NET

Most of the first settlers of this land came here so that they could worship God freely and have a chance to build a legacy for their family. They wanted to seek God and do His will as they understood it from the Scriptures and build homes and businesses limited only by their own work. This happened, and this country was the greatest material country in the world while being the most Christian-influenced country in terms of its number of churches, seminaries, missionaries sent, and giving to charity everywhere. The laws of this land reflected the truths found in Scripture, and our leaders pledged on Bibles before God and men to uphold those just laws. But then we became self-sufficient, educated beyond our God’s wisdom, proud, fat, and lazy spiritually. Is America better today than she was fifty years ago? One hundred years ago? Spiritually or morally? Our laws and leaders reflect a new morality that has departed from God’s word. So many of our churches have compromised God’s Word, denying its truth or power for saving men and changing lives. The Lord blesses the nation that calls upon Him and walks in His ways. Cursed is the nation that ignores God and promotes those things that God despises. If America would be great, then the Church must preach the gospel and make disciples, teaching everyone everywhere to obey everything Jesus has commanded while doing the same among themselves.
