Why are we losing the moral battle in our culture? This current election is pitting those who are pro-life against those who are pro-abortion. The marketing is pleading with society to vote against the bigots, the small-minded, those who don’t care about the unfortunate who have unwanted pregnancies, especially those who were made pregnant by rape and incest. What makes a person pro-life?
Love for God, Who is life. The understanding is that God creates life and that, as a result, all life is precious in His sight, for it reflects His image. Pro-life is Biblical, but much of the church is ignorant of the Scripture that reveals that God is life, now and in the coming age. This is the result of parents not teaching their children when they woke up in the morning God’s truths, as they were going about their day reminding them of God’s truths, and before they went to sleep at night, further instructing them about God’s truth.
It comes from overexposure to pagan ideology in school, the media, and even in the church. The church has too much sought the comfort of its people rather than building their conviction in their God. The moral war in our culture is a war of ideas, believed upon in our hearts, manifested by our actions. We who are in Christ are to be led by Christ Whose Spirit in us depends upon the presence of the Word of God that we must consume to change us and strengthen us to know God and do His will.
Until we repent of our sins and turn to God’s Word consistently to instruct us and lead us in God’s ways, we will continue to lose the battle of ideas in our culture and thus our society will further manifest man’s sinful nature. The healing of our land results from our conforming to God’s Word by the power of God’s Spirit.
