Your Understanding Of Truth Determines How You Live Today And Where You Live Tomorrow

“You are a king then?” Pilate asked. “You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” “What is truth?” said Pilate. After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I find no grounds for charging him.” John 18:37-38 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/jhn.18.37-38.CSB

These past few days, my thoughts have been about salvation. This is what salvation comes down to: what is the truth about God and man, and who knows it? Do the Jews have the truth through Moses? Do the Muslims have the truth through Mohammad? Do the Hindus have the truth in their writings? Is Buddha the truth? Are the modern scientists who are atheists the revealers of truth? What is true? Everyone must answer that question for themselves, but the answer will determine how they live today and where they will live for eternity. The Christian says the truth is in the Bible, revealed by God, and ultimately in Jesus. He is God and lived among us as one of us to save us as a sacrifice for us while speaking to us about the way we are to live, the truth about Who He is as God, and the promise of eternal life to come. Through His teachings, miracles and resurrection from the dead, He demonstrated the legitimacy of His claims. Yet many then and most today still reject Him as God and Savior of the world. Most do so out of ignorance because they haven’t taken the time to study Him at the jeopardy of their souls. Many others reject Him because they prefer to be their own god, doing what they want instead of learning from the One True God, humbling themselves before Him, and living in sacrificial love toward God and man as a servant of God. We all believe in truth, but when it comes to truth about God, we get passive, obstinate, or passionate. We all will die, that we know, what happens next? I believe we will see God in Jesus, and He will forever welcome into His kingdom all those who have loved Him in this world, but He will forever condemn all those who rejected His truth on earth for whatever reason.
