Revelation 5:9–10 (NIV): “And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.’”
Who Are Christians?
Christians are not self-made men. We are men purchased by God through the blood of Jesus Christ. We belong to Him—redeemed from death, sin, and the devil’s grip. The purpose of a Christian man is not to chase worldly success but to live as a priest of God in this world.
What Is the Purpose of Christian Men?
The Bible says God has made us “a kingdom and priests to serve Him.” That means our calling is clear: Christian men are called to represent God in the world, lead their families in faith, and point people back to Jesus.
Too many men today are distracted by the grind for provision while neglecting their eternal priorities. The truth is, the greatest provision a man can give his family is not money, but a father who teaches God’s Word, leads in prayer, and models obedience to Christ.
How Did Jesus Model Our Role?
Jesus, the ultimate Man, showed us what it means to be a priest in the world. He humbled Himself, served others, and gave His life so that people could be reconciled to the Father. In the same way, Christian men must embrace their purpose: to serve, to sacrifice, and to boldly make Christ known in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
Why This Matters Now
The Great Commission isn’t just for pastors or missionaries—it’s for every man who calls himself a follower of Jesus. Yet the reality is sobering: many men sit in churches but never go out to make Christ known. Many fathers fail to teach their children God’s commands. Many men remain silent in the marketplace, ashamed to identify with Jesus.
But here’s the truth: Christian men were purchased to be priests—not spectators. Our identity in Christ demands action. If we fail in this purpose, we are in rebellion against the One who purchased us.
The Call to Action
Brother, you are not your own. You were bought at a price. Your mission is clear: live boldly for Jesus, lead your family in faith, and represent Christ as His priest in this world. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Don’t waste your life chasing empty priorities—step into the eternal purpose God has called you to.
