Hebrews 12:5-6, 8-9, 12-13 NIV records, “And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! Another teenager ‘transitioning’ committed suicide. While transitioning is a popular trend among teenagers, it is primarily among those lost in purpose, meaning, identity, and understanding of their self-worth. The transition furthers their separation from their peers, increases their depression, and, for too many, leads to self-elimination from society. All this occurs while parents, particularly fathers, try and support their child by giving approval to the process rather than leading, correcting, and affirming their child’s creation intentionally performed by the Creator, Who has a special purpose and significance for bringing them into this world, which is to get them into His eternal world as glorious children of God. Fathers must lead their children in God’s ways to accomplish God’s purposes. The pagan ideology of godlessness and self-absorption promoted constantly by our public schools is the opposite of the godly theology found in the Scriptures, in which fathers are to be the primary teachers of their children. Fathers must lead their homes by teaching God’s good ways, affirming His truth, and correcting everyone toward His path, lest we continue to allow our children to become disabled and destroyed by the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. All because fathers did not take their children consistently, persistently, and doggedly to Him, Who has come to bring life and that life abundantly.
