Galatians 6.4-5 commands, make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
God knows He is awesome, that He can do all things and that He is limitless in His ability or creativity. God knows too that He created us in His image so believes deeply that virtually nothing is impossible for us to accomplish.
Therefore, God does not micromanage us but releases us to do His will for His glory with all of the skills and talents given to us by Him. While God has works for us to do the means of accomplishing those works is fairly open to our own interpretation. God gives us principles and commands for how we are to do His work but not specific steps for doing His work.
This frustrates many people for they want God to give them every detail. They fear failure and want to shift blame upon God if things don’t turn out well. God’s work done God’s way will never fail to accomplish glorifying Him.
God treats us as intelligent, talent laden, Spirit possessed children of His who can do all things through Christ and for Christ that result in His honor and the betterment of humanity. We just need to think more how we can do more for the glory of God in a world starving to experience more of His presence. We need to take more risk at serving God for humanity’s sake trusting that with Him and each other in the Church, we can make significant impact in the world for good.
We need to stop waiting for God to do something, He already has, and start doing something by faith using the limitless resources of the mind He gave us, the Spirit He placed within us and the Church that surrounds us for seeing His kingdom come upon the earth as it is in heaven.
