God’s Word Judges People, Not God’s People Sharing God’s Word

“Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly……But they said, “Get out of the way!” They also said, “This one came in as a foreigner, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them!” So they pressed hard against Lot and moved forward to break the door.” Genesis 19:7, 9 NASB2020 https://bible.com/bible/2692/gen.19.9.NASB2020

Christians have been shutdown these past years by their own scripture used against them from the pagans telling them not to judge lest they be judged. Not knowing then how to correct sin without judging, christians say nothing. The result? A society increasingly emboldened to live and promote lives without regard for God’s ways. Lot moved into the town of Sodom and when he saw their wicked ways he called it out. This led to people feeling judged which caused them hostility toward Lot. God has a prescribed way for people to live and it is the responsibility of the people of God to live this way and to encourage others to do the same. It is this encouragement and correction that the Holy Spirit uses to convict people of sin leading them to repentance and thus salvation. It is the necessary work of Christians to promote God’s ways so that God’s word can go forward to bring God’s will on earth, the salvation of men and obedience to everything He has commanded us. Christians don’t have to be mean spirited in this speaking of God’s ways to men who defy them. Part of our testimony is that we have all sinned, we have all turned away and are all guilty before the Almighty Who will judge all men according to His Living Word Who died for us and rose again to become judge of us. It us not us who judge when we proclaim God’s ways to men, it is God Who judges. Our proclamation is a confession of commitment to obedience to God which all men are required to adhere. As we love people practically, serve people sacrificially, we earn credibility for sharing God’s ways with men but share God’s ways we must lest we be found guilty of denying our Savior and disobeying His command to go and make disciples teaching everyone to obey everything He has commanded us.
