God’s Work Is Saving Us Whether We See It Or Not

“He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re going to die?”” Mark 4:38 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/mrk.4.38.CSB

The disciples ask if God cares they are about to die when it is because of His care they are dying that He has come. They are dying eternally, so God has come not just for them but for all of us. God is trying to tell them He has come because they are dying, but He is going to give them life eternal and abundant. They do not understand God is saving them, so they petition Him to save them from their immediate calamity. How often do we see God as asleep, though He is in our midst to save us and is even now saving us? However, we remain ignorant of His work and His word around us. Crying out to Him for help in our circumstances while missing the help we need for our eternal lives. God cares deeply. God is active always, even when He appears to be asleep. His love and mercy are great, for even though we miss the significance of His presence, He helps us with our current needs while leading us to follow Him for healing and restoration of our deepest needs.
