Jesus Is God and Man

Hebrews 1:3, 6, 8, 10 NIV records, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven….And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”…..But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom….He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”  https://bible.com/bible/111/heb.1.10.NIV

The book of Hebrews was originally written to help the Jewish Christians understand and know for certain that their Savior, Jesus, is God. He is greater than all the previous High Priests. His sacrifice is greater than all previous sacrifices. His New Covenant is greater than the Old Covenant. His promised eternal rest for His people is greater than the Sabbath rest. Jesus is God in the flesh. He spoke the world into existence and then existed in our world as a man to die for the sins of man in order to justify God’s righteousness against man and to be able to pardon man for all His sins against God. There is only one God, but He exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This revelation of God assured to us as true from the Scriptures is rejected by all those who deny Jesus is God. Denying Jesus as God and man is to deny God Himself and to be found condemned by God to be removed forever from the presence of God on that day we meet God face to face to be welcomed forever into His kingdom or condemned forever away from His presence. God can do anything. Can He not be One God in Three Persons? His human divinity is necessary for our salvation and our reconciliation with God because we are made in His image and need a Savior. God loves us and has come to us to demonstrate that love in order to reconcile us forever to Himself. Will we not respond to God’s love by loving Him and thanking Him for making us, saving us, and making Himself like one of us so that we can be with Him forever?
