Jesus is God the Savior. Jesus as God came to earth as man to be the human sacrifice necessary for sinful humans to be made acceptable to God. Jesus as God lived a perfect life as man so He could be the sacrifice for sinful men and appropriate to us His perfect life so that we can live forever with the perfect God. Jesus, God and man, a man speaking to us as God, proved by His words and deeds in order to reconcile us with God, to save us from the wrath to come when all are judged by their deeds or by their relationship with Jesus. Those who have a relationship with God through Jesus the Savior will be pardoned and received into the eternal kingdom of God, those who reject Jesus and depend upon their own good deeds will be rejected by God for rejecting Him and not living in obedience to His prescribed way. God’s ways, in Jesus and through Jesus, are recorded for us in Scripture so that all men from all time in all places can know the One True God and what He requires of us. This makes sense for it is these recorded words He will use to either pardon us or condemn us. Ignorance of the word of God is inexcusable for God has provided everything we need to know Him and to be reconciled to Him through His word which leads us to Himself in Jesus the Savior of the world. To reject scripture is to reject the word of God which is to reject Jesus resulting in death and suffering forever. Jesus is God making clear to man the ways of God because He is a man. Knowing Him and obeying His commands is the way to eternal life, there is no other.
