The Christian life is more than believing in God. The demons do that and shudder. The Christian life is beginning a relationship with God in this life that will continue into the next life forever. This relationship with God starts by serving God, doing His work on this earth according to His will found in His word. God has chosen to accomplish His will, the salvation of every person, through every person who claims to be His child. He expects His people to bear fruit and to live as a child of God, a relative, by adoption, to Jesus. The means for winning people is steadfast endurance of love, and good deeds poured out upon them until their eyes and hearts are opened to receiving the gospel. We must continue to share God’s word with people, for faith comes by hearing God’s word, even as we continue to live this word as evidence of God’s life in us. To do this, we must be in God’s word daily to know what God says, properly relay that information to others, and live out His commands for His glory. We prove we are God’s children, fellow heirs of Jesus, in the family of God, by living like Jesus, seeking and saving the lost, while making the word of God our food and the will of God our greatest satisfaction.
