The Godly Man Will Have Conflict

From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and forceful people lay hold of it.” Matthew 11:12 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/mat.11.12.NET

Resistance is futile is a common quote used by the powerful in their oppression of the powerless. God is not an oppressor, but resistance to His kingdom is futile. In the end, the Maker of the heavens and the earth will Judge all men on their deeds and restore the world and all that it contains to His original intent. In the meantime, the ungodly have resisted the godly and will continue to do so until King Jesus returns to reign forever. As Jesus the Savior, God Himself was resisted and crucified by men. But the resistance was futile. Jesus rose from the dead and promises resurrection life to all who love Him and obey His commands. Godly men today must embrace the fact that we will have trouble in this world. Godly men today must have faith that Jesus has overcome the world and will be with us always as we stay with Him in His work of seeing His kingdom come and His will be done on the earth as it is in heaven. The world will resist the holy ways of God. The world will condemn the person who promotes the righteous living God requires of humanity. The godly man must embrace this truth, reminding himself that being ashamed of Jesus now means Jesus being ashamed of him later. The man of God must live as Jesus did, obedient to God’s will and faithful to God’s work while receiving the condemnation of men. The man whom God will accept and reward in His eternal kingdom is the man who remained faithful to God against those men who violently opposed the will of God as recorded in the word of God.
