While Jesus was teaching, power for healing was present. Jesus used healings and other miracles to draw attention to His message. Most of His healings were very public, so that the people who were listening to His words would see His power and believe His message. On occasion, when the miracles were more private, they were mostly done for influential leaders whose testimony would be a powerful witness to Jesus’ power and person. While many of us would love to see the power of God present for healing today, i find those really seeking and even marketing these things are doing so in their churches. While the church is public it is a collection of believers in Jesus and not a group of people curious if God exists and if He is present in the speaker about Him. The power of God for healing, if it were done like Jesus, would be done in the public sector, among the curious and seeking, while listening to a message about God and His requirement for them to repent and follow Him by denying themselves. Most of us want God for our own benefit while God wants us to introduce Him to others for thier benefit. God is not a pawn or a circus to be used by us, He is the Lord God Almighty, perhaps this is why we see so little if any of His power present for healing.
