The Purpose of Our Salvation

“how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14 LSB) https://accordance.bible/link/read/LSB#Heb._9:14

Why have we been saved? Jesus came to save sinners of whom all of us are born partakers. He is God, lived a perfect life but was killed by man. Sacrificed by God Who placed the penalty of all sin from all men for all time upon His body, sacrificing Him at the cross, satisfying His requirement for justice, the right punishment for all the disobedience men of have done from the beginning of time and the beginning of our time. So what is the purpose of our salvation? It is so we might live with God now and forevermore. How are we to live with God? By doing what is right in His eyes now and always. What is His will for us now? To serve Him, to accomplish His purposes on earth as they are accomplished in heaven. To bring about the restoration of all humanity with the Him through Jesus the Savior. To reconcile all men to God through the sharing of the gospel and the teaching of obedience to all He has commanded us. This is how we serve our God doing as the Son of Man did, Who served God by becoming Savior. God Himself served the will of the Father by seeking and saving the lost. Our mission then, our purpose for our current salvation, is to seek and save the lost doing all that God has commanded us through His words recorded in Scripture that we might be like Him on earth accomplishing His purposes on earth until we all reach heaven where we will live with Him forever and ever.
