Christians Are God’s Image Bearers: Holy as He is Holy

Hebrews 2:11 NIV records, “Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.” https://bible.com/bible/111/heb.2.11.NIV

Jesus, the Lord God Almighty, through His Holy Spirit, is forming His people into His image, holy, righteous, and blameless, for that Day, He presents us to God His Father for living with Him forever. We are created in the image of God from the dust, and we are being made in the image of God spiritually and morally through the Spirit. The new body promised to all those who are born again in Christ will no longer have the DNA of rebellion against God we all maintain in these bodies. We cannot be born Christians because the DNA of sin or rebellion against God resides in us. We must be born again of God to become children of God into whom the Spirit of God enters to change us into the image of God in character and purpose. This is why we cannot become Christians and continue living rebellious lives against God. Those truly born again begin living lives pleasing to God, for He Who is holy resides in us and makes us holy as He is holy. The holiness of God is described in the Scripture. It is these Scriptures that God uses to form us into His image. They tell us where He is taking us spiritually, morally, and physically and how we must comply with Him on this journey. Jesus is brother to all those but only those who like Him while living on earth, surrender fully to the will of God by obeying completely the word of God in the power and presence of the Spirit of God, Who is living in all those who are truly born again.
