“For our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our fathers have not kept Your Law Or paid attention to Your commandments and Your admonitions with which You have admonished them. But they, in their own kingdom, With Your great goodness which You gave them, With the broad and rich land which You placed before them, Did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds. Behold, we are slaves today, And as for the land which You gave to our fathers to eat its fruit and its bounty, Behold, we are slaves on it. And its abundant produce is for the kings Whom You have set over us because of our sins; They also rule over our bodies And over our cattle as they please, So we are in great distress.” Nehemiah 9:34-37 NASB2020 https://bible.com/bible/2692/neh.9.37.NASB2020
America the beautiful, land that i love. We have such a rich history of God’s presence with the people of this nation. No nation has or is doing more at demonstrating global compassion for those who suffer from tyrants or tragedy. While the church has been prominent from the inception of this nation so too have men whose goal is power and wealth. Much evil has been done in this nation and by this nation upon other nations by men in our government. Like any man, this nation of men is full of goodness and full of evil. What makes a man good or evil? Obedience or disdain for God and His will recorded in His word. When a nation obeys God its people live in peace, joy, health and prosperity for God’s ways are the designed ways for people to live. The Creator Who made us has recorded for us how we are to live according to His design of us. Yet our leaders have rejected our Creator. They encourage disobedience to His ways rewarding with money those who comply and punishing those who reject their evil ways. They seek to rule over our bodies with their rules about the Covid virus and they rule our land with their taxes and regulations that strangle freedom and prosperity. Too many in the church are complicit with their evil and agree with their ways, the result of not being diligent to study and obey God’s word. Our best life is the life that seeks God’s ways found in God’s word then applies them together with those who love God also. The church must repent from evil, turn to God and encourage one another, including our leaders, to obey the ways of the One True God before we utterly and wholly collapse in chaos and destruction.
