“”Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake that I am about to act, O house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy reputation which you profaned among the nations where you went. I will magnify my great name that has been profaned among the nations, that you have profaned among them. The nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the sovereign Lord, when I magnify myself among you in their sight.” Ezekiel 36:22-23 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/ezk.36.22-23.NET
The United States has not replaced Israel as God’s chosen nation. The New Covenant makes the Church the people of God. The Church is for all people in all nations, all men and all women of all races, are invited to become children of God and to receive His inheritance of eternal life in His kingdom of peace and provision, of love and joy where no one dies, and no one hungers and no one ever gets sick or crippled again. Yet the United States, since its inception, has placed God and His Church most prominently in its understanding of what is right and good. Our founding was based upon biblical principles. The Church in America grew and thrived as America grew and thrived from sea to shining sea. As the Church prospered, it sent money and missionaries worldwide to make Jesus known to all nations in obedience to Jesus’ commission to make disciples of all nations. However, the Church in America has grown weak. It has become confused. It has lost much of its power because it has denied the Scriptures, compromised with the culture, and focused on itself rather than others. We struggle to remain a light to the nations and a beacon of hope for all people. May God, for His Name’s sake, revive His Church in America to win our corrupt leaders in politics, media, business, and the university to conform to His ways. May God revive His Church for making Him known in the world by increasing those who will give their lives for the gospel’s sake and for the nations’ salvation. May all of us who claim to be His Church pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways so that God again might hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land.
