What Do You Hunger For?

“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete his work. Don’t you say, ‘There are four more months and then comes the harvest?’ I tell you, look up and see that the fields are already white for harvest! The one who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps can rejoice together.” John 4:34-36 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/jhn.4.35.NET

The need of the hour is for the church to hunger to do God’s will. Everyone sees the evil in the world, the harvest is obviously plentiful, but the workers remain few. Who are the workers that will receive God’s great reward for their faithful service to Him while they lived on this earth? It will be all those but only those who made their food, their chief objective, their greatest want, the doing of God’s will on earth as it is in heaven. What is His will? God’s will is for everyone to be reconciled to Him through Jesus the Savior. The work of the faithful servant of God is the sharing of the gospel with men who are broken by their sin so that they might be reconciled to God, set free from their bondage to sin, and joined to the family of God for strengthening and increasing the labor pool for God. Who hungers for God’s will to be done on earth? Who thirsts for righteousness to reign in our land? Who sees the results of ignoring God and disobeying His commands in our society? The faithful laborer of God hungers for His glory, thirsts for His righteousness, and ministers to those who demonstrate by their actions their sickness and need for the Physician Who alone can heal and restore unto eternal life.
