What God Means By Righteous and Sober-Minded

“Become righteously sober-minded, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.” 1 Corinthians 15:34 LSB https://bible.com/bible/3345/1co.15.34.LSB

The need of the hour is for the church’s men to embrace this command from God given to us through His servant Paul. If we would have a more noble nation, a more righteous society, and a more godly world, we must all pursue obedience to Jesus as Lord and Savior. This work begins with the current church. We must get our heads straight regarding how we are to live and what we are to do. We are not to be consumed with our pleasures but with the purpose of God. Our greatest joy will come from success at God’s work if we have faith to believe. What is that work? Seeing people come to faith in Jesus the Savior and growing in their obedience to Him. Do any of us know people who do not know Jesus as Savior? When was the last time we shared God’s command that all men must repent and receive Him with our unbelieving friends? God says shame on us for not doing all we can to change our friend’s and family’s eternal destiny. Will not God reprove us for not doing His work on that day He seeks to reward us for our faithfulness to Him? Our obedience proves our faithfulness. If we love Him we will do what He commands. He has commanded us to make disciples by loving others as we love ourselves. This is how we best and most love God. We must understand and apply this reality to our lives, for this is how we live righteously sober-minded.
