What It Means To Be Filled With God’s Spirit

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”” Galatians 4:4-6 LSB. https://bible.com/bible/3345/gal.4.6.LSB

For those in Christ the Spirit of the Son lives within and He causes us to look to heaven where our God dwells and cry Father! Only Christianity invites its adherents to call the One True God dad. Doesn’t it make sense that the Creator would see the creation as His? Our rejection of God keeps us from God but those who come to God through Jesus the Savior Who is God are reconciled to God and receive the Spirit of God which causes us to see God as our Father and ourselves as His children. This is glorious good news for all of humanity. If true, and it is, then what does it look like to have the same Spirit within us as the Spirit of the God Who came to live among us as one of us? To have the same spirit is to have the same nature, character and desires. To live as Jesus did, the proof of His Spirit in us, is to live in obedience to God the Father wholly and completely. It is to seek Him to gorge ourselves at the table of His word in order to know His ways so that we can glorify Him on earth as He is glorified in heaven. It is to serve sacrificially the needs of humanity so that they can see and feel God. It is to give generously to the work of bringing men into the kingdom of God. It is to sacrifice our wills and desires for the will and desire of God to be done on earth which is the reconciliation of the world to Himself through Jesus the Savior. Is this what we see in our lives? An unquenchable desire to know God and an unceasing effort to make God known in the world? It is if His Spirit is truly at work in our lives.
